While wandering the perimeter of the now world famous Brighton abattoir site
I spotted something glinting in the afternoon sunlight.
Meet the Wailing Wall of Brighton!
It is made of a concrete I hve never seen before;
of cement, fire ash and Victorian glass and Stoneware.

The wall is opposite the abattoir dump and I wonder if perhaps there are are more about town
and if they are perhaps indicative of a dump nearby?
Below are some of the pieces embedded in the wall;

Early Burgess lid

Codd fragment

Various Victorian glass, note the 'sun purple' stopper.

Any ideas anyone?

Most interesting was this piece high up on the wall.
I had to hold my camera at full stretch and with telephoto on so quality isn't good.
It is blue or maybe green print and I guess a cream cylinder!
Note the lettering which I'm sure says;
COUNTY BOROUGH
OF
BRIGHTON
and there is Brighton DOLPHIN below.
Do have a look at this wall and look out for others!
Two Spirit Fasks from;
The White Lion, North Street, Brighton
1860's? 70's? 80's???
( can anyone help with info?)
